Part 3: Act on it thumbnail

Module Overview

Act on it focuses on how you can support an NDIS participant to take action when something doesn’t feel right.

This module helps you recognise when a participant may be experiencing an issue, start supportive conversations about what’s happening, and work with the participant to decide what steps to take next. It also explains the role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and when it may be appropriate to involve them.

Taking action doesn’t always mean making a complaint. It can involve listening, checking in, practising conversations, and helping a participant feel confident to speak up while staying safe, supported, and in control.

Purpose

To help family members, friends, and carers support NDIS participants to raise concerns, provide feedback, and take appropriate action when their rights or wellbeing may be affected.
